The Raritan Valley Symphonic Band will present a free "Pops" concert at 8 pm on Friday, June 4 in the new Hillsborough High School Auditorium, located on Raider Blvd. off Amwell Road and Rte. 206.
"Our annual pops concert is a wonderful opportunity to hear a live musical performance designed for just about every taste and for listeners young and old," says the Band's new Conductor, Dr. Jerry Rife. The program will range from Broadway showstoppers to Sousa marches, film scores, and jazz. Featured will be two Rodgers and Hammerstein classics, "The Sound of Music" and "Carousel" as well as symphonic arrangements of "America the Beautiful" and the "United States Overture."
Following the concert, the public is invited to stay for free refreshments, Dixieland by the Band's own "Dixie Mix" ensemble and an opportunity to meet Band members and Conductor Rife.
In its 16th concert season, the 75 piece Raritan Valley Symphonic Band is recognized as one of the finest community bands in New Jersey.
